'Jab We Met'...Ahem Ahem !! :-)

Before u read this post a small piece of advice...I know some of u can't handle 'Bebo'...For the time being shed that awful image of hers that u have and give her a second chance. She deserves it !! :-)

Imtiaz Ali's cute love story actually moved me a bit. The kinda stuff u can relate to probably in 'real' (not exactly 'reel') life !! :-)

The typically 'Hinglish' title gives a headstart to the movie. A dead giveaway to a chance meeting between two complete strangers on a train and how their lives get unknowingly entangled. Loved the narration where the sheer focus has been on the chemistry between Shahid and Kareena which is the way it should be although some critics might disagree as it tends to slightly shift away from the plot. Interestingly, after their real life break-up both pull it off quite refreshingly here.

But the real essence of the movie lies in the time the two characters spend with each other and in the process gradually discover each other. U will enjoy every frame of it !! :-)

Both of dem have loved before and aren't really on a journey to find true love again but as dey say and which I strongly believe in "Love just happens"...U may never find it when u r seeking it desperately...U will just know it when u find it !!
Sounds poetic but am afraid datz how strong bonds in life are made.

'Geet' (Kareena) is the more childish and 'Chulbuli' types at first but U do discover the deep emotional side to her with time. Kudos to Kareena for carrying it off well. Meanwhile 'Aditya' (Shahid) is the sort of cute guy some gurls wud die for :-) but he has already loved once and lost and the pain is unbearable for him. He doesn't believe he can fall in love again as he calls himself a "One Man Woman". Part of his thinking is based on the troubled marriage of his parents. All this until he meets 'Geet' whose sheer vibrance and 'happy-go-lucky' nature brings him back from oblivion and nurtures a bond between the two which can only be felt and can never be described.

Later in the movie 'Aditya' too comes back for her when he comes to know of her being dumped by her boyfriend. Both know it dat dey share something very unique, something very strong and something very special but yet both are unwilling to accept it in front of each other because of other compulsions. 'Aditya' tries his best to make it work between 'Geet' and 'Anshuman' (her boyfriend) but things somehow take a different turn and instead both of dem feel dat dey are an integral part of each other and can't live being separate which calls for a happy ending to a cute li'l love story.

Donno why but somehow I deeply relate to the nature of the character played by Shahid. Shades of his character reflect in me. Won't elaborate much on the resemblence in real life happenings but dis is a movie for 'All dose in love', 'All dose who have loved and lost' and 'All dose who r seekin love again' . Go watch It !! :-)

Btw did I forget to mention the peppy music which comes as a bonus package :-)...Nice beats on the "Yeh Ishq Hai..." number... kinda stuff u can keep listening to all day long..."Nagada Nagada" and "Mauja Hi Mauja" are the other dance numbers to watch out for.

'Laaga Chunari Se Bhaag' is what I would recommend to viewers and yes we are all eagerly waiting for the next big release 'Om Shanti Om' !!

Have a Great Weekend and "Happy Deepavali" in advance !! :-)

A small update on my blog posts : I am neither a critic nor a professional writer. I write when I have a feel for it and on any subject dat interests me. I enjoy the freedom I have on my writing and probably dat has an effect on the flow. I just cant write on anythin anytime. It has got to come to me and most of my write-ups are never complete and which is precisely why lot of dem never make it past the editing table !! :-)...Donno how long I will continue writing but for all dose who enjoy visiting dis page I would probably say dat I have absolutely no intentions of generatin revenue out of dis sometime and as long as I write I do it for the sole reason of sharing somethin wid u (no other reason intended)...Probably I mite make more attempts to advertise my posts in future but dat would merely be a personal objective.
To the subscribers to dis page - thnx for ur genuine interest. Keep Rocking !! :-)

The writer seems to luv the movie, but with all due respect, I thought this one was a pure dud!
The first 'train' journey was still ok, (alright, I give it to u,,, was quite 'fun' if u pls..), but the last scenes.. especially when kareena/shahid and dat anshuman guy land at geet's place - dats where the typical 'bollywood' places its dirty hands on what-could-have-been an ok flick. Very weak narration, poor logic and abysmal show-of-emotions... Something that only a run-of-the-mill bollywood flick could manage! Frankly, I had better hopes from Imtiaz Ali, who gave such a great ending-sequence to the wonderfully tender Socha Na Tha...
He's just proved, to err is human!
