Ash - Image Makeover ?

Just saw two Ash movies "Bride and Prejudice" and "Mistress of Spices"...

Well guys "Aishwarya Rai" has come a long way from being a glamorous lady onscreen to a girl next door that she portrays in both these crossover (so called Hinglish) movies...

And I guess a lot of the credit goes to her that she has made a choice between commercial cinema and meaningful cinema (basically going for an image makeover) ...much like fellow actors Rahul Bose and Konkona Sen.
But then how can the script be so loose and yet fit in enough punch so as to hold ur attention for most part...Is it just the changed looks or am I being illogical...!!

As far as the movies go...I found 'Bride and Prejudice' much similar in nature to 'Bend It Like Beckham' (typical Gurinder Chaddha style with some added 'nach gana' thrown in) and 'Mistress of Spices' is an "Out of ur Senses" kind of movie which leaves much to imagination...Frankly I couldnt get a clue as to what the movie was supposed to convey...!!

Better watch 'Bride and Prejudice' which makes more sense rather than wasting ur time on 'Mistress of Spices'...!!

And by the way we all are looking forward to her Hollywood venture 'Provoked' ...
